idu Software makes budgeting, forecasting, performance management and reporting tools to simplify financial management. Our flagship product, idu-Concept, provides easy, effective budgeting and financial reporting for medium-sized to large businesses. It is the most widely deployed dedicated budgeting system in South Africa. idu-Concept integrates easily with ERP software, but unlike more cumbersome offerings, idu-Concept can be implemented quickly, requires little or no ongoing consulting fees and reduces budgeting cycles from months to weeks. Our company is owner-managed, and still led by its two founding members.

As a Proudly South African company, we are committed to black economic empowerment (BEE) including employment equity, skills development and uplifting in our local community. We are a certified BEE Level 2 Contributor.

Our history

idu Software was started in 1998 by accountants and financial system specialists to offer ERP consulting services. One of our first clients asked us to develop a custom budgeting solution that interfaced directly with their underlying financial system and was also user friendly for non-financial staff.  

We realised there were few dedicated budgeting tools available, and even fewer that were easy for staff outside the finance department to use. The solution we developed back then remains our core product offering today.
