Description



In addition idu-Concept has a number of idu-Concept Add-on Modules designed to cater for a variety of business needs and user convenience.

idu-Concept is a product, marketed and distributed by the idu Group. The product has been designed to streamline the budget and forecast capture and reporting process reducing the cycle from months to weeks. The system accommodates multiple companies, currencies, and hierarchies as well as both budget and forecast fiscal sets, which, although residing within the same system, exist completely independent of each other. The system comprises three parts, two front end modules and an administrator module.

The two front end modules consist of the core budgeting and forecasting module and management information comparing actual spend to budget and forecast.

The user interface to the product, called idu-Budgets reduces user input by automating as much of the data capture as possible. The system has been developed to maximise point and click technologies with a minimum of typing or manual intervention. This approach has been adopted to ensure that the budget process minimises the time drain on the end users who are, more often than not, salesmen and operations staff who have little empathy for the budget process which is not one of their core functions.
Specifically the system provides for a number of different methods of data capture depending on the account types which are set by the administrator:

  • Standard accounts allow the user to budget in total and the system includes a range of administrator defined spread factors to distribute the cost over the year
  • Itemised accounts are also allowed for by including functionality to force budget capture, item by item
  • Depreciation accounts remove from the user the burden of calculating depreciation rates per asset by automating these functions
  • Allocation accountsare defined by the administrator to integrate the budgeting of sales, cost of sales and related overhead cost basedon either monthly sales volumes or values
  • Re-allocation accounts allow the creation of budgets based onother accounts eg. Marketing as a percentage of sales
  • Departmental Transfer accounts allow users toredistribute centralised costs to other areas within the business, updating the recipient centre’s budget instantaneously
  • Remuneration accounts reduce remuneration budgeting to manpower projections by grade with all related accounts automatically computed from these manpower movements
  • Weekly accounts to accommodate 52 or 53 week budget capture

      NB: Please note that all these requirements must be met before the installation of idu-Concept ® can commence.

      Server software (2 tier application – Web and Database Server on 1 Server)
      Server:
      Windows NT 4.0 Server with Service Pack 6a or later, with Windows NT Option Pack (Internet Information Server comes with NT option pack 4 and later).
      OR Windows 2000 Server with IIS 4.0 or later (Internet Information Server) installed.
      Microsoft Transaction Server.
      SQL Server 2000.
      Minimum 2 Gig RAM.
      Recommended Pentium 4 Dual (2.4 GHz) or more. +/- 500MB Hard drive space free.
      Crystal 8.5 can be installed on the web server. If it does not get loaded, Crystal 8.5 will be loaded during the installation.
      Server software (3 tier and N tier application – Web and Database Server on separate Servers)

      Web Server:
      Windows NT 4.0 Server with Service Pack 6a or later, with Windows NT Option Pack (Internet Information Server comes with NT option pack 4 and later).
      OR Windows 2000 Server with IIS 4.0 or later (Internet Information Server) installed.
      Microsoft Transaction Server.
      Minimum 2 Gig RAM.
      Recommended Pentium 4 Dual (2.4 GHz) or more.
      +/- 250MB Hard drive space free.
      Crystal 8.5 can be installed on the web server.
