About Us
idu Software was established in 1998 to deliver financial value add products around
ERP and financial systems. Our core product is idu-Concept which has been designed
to streamline management interaction with financial systems. We have had particular
success around our budgeting and reporting modules and they are seen as market leaders
in South Africa.
idu has always grown organically and has historically been focused on the local
South African market. In recent years we have started to look further a field for
potential markets and opportunities. This growth has also been organic in nature
however we have established a diversified distributor network from America to New
Zealand.
From a product perspective our growth has likewise been organic with no acquisitions
of third party products or integration into idu-Concept. We typically identify a
requirement from within our client base and develop the added functionality in conjunction
with the client to ensure that the client receives added functionality that meets
their requirements and that the enhancement is generic enough to be a value add
to the remainder of the client base. Where a development is not to be generally
available then the development will be outside of the core application and distributed
only to the client that has requested the enhancement. In both scenarios organic
growth guarantees integration and consistency throughout the application.
idu qualifies as an SME organisation in terms of revenue and staff complement. As
such we are required to comply with BEE legislation. In terms of that legislation
we are considered a Qualifying Small Enterprise, or QSE. This means that we are
required to produce a scorecard to establish our contribution to the BEE initiative.
In terms of this scorecard we are allowed to evaluate ourselves against any four
of the seven defined “pillars” of BEE. We have completed this scorecard and reviewed
it with our auditors. We have attained a 95% rating and as such qualify as a level
2 Contributor.
As an SME organisation we are not legislated to comply with any quota type employment
numbers. We have a strict principle of employing the best available candidates to
fill vacancies and these candidates are not discriminated against on grounds of
race or religion. The breakdown of our staff compliment, in accordance with race
and sex requirements as set down by legislation as well as is impacted in terms
of management positions held etc, allowed us to attain an 80% rating on the BEE
scorecard for this section.
